130 William, a unique luxury building in Lower Manhattan designed by Sir David Adjaye, reaches approximately 800 feet high across 66 stories. Not only is this Adjaye’s inaugural skyscraper, but it also marks his first tower in New York City.

Developed by the real estate firm Lightstone, 130 William is set to make a bold impression on the already dazzling downtown New York skyline. Instead of opting for the glass façade typical of such structures, Adjaye Associates drew inspiration from the city’s architectural history. The building features a bespoke, hand-cast façade that offers a modern twist on the classic stonework found in Manhattan's historic buildings. Its elegant exterior combines textured surfaces with smooth bronze detailing, enhanced by a series of large arched windows that reference the industrial lofts that once characterized the area.

The tower comprises 244 residences, ranging from studios to four-bedroom apartments, including penthouses on the top ten floors. These homes are accompanied by an exceptional assortment of lifestyle and wellness amenities, totaling over 20,000 square feet. The health club features an infinity pool, hot and cold plunge pools, massage rooms, a fitness center, a yoga studio, and a basketball court. Additional leisure options include an IMAX movie theater, a golf simulator, a residents' club lounge, a game room, a chef’s kitchen with private dining spaces, a children’s activity center, a pet spa, and a private observatory roof deck atop the building. It appears that no detail has been neglected.

Within the residences, high-quality materials such as wide planks of white oak flooring, burnished bronze fixtures, and a curated selection of textured Spanish and Italian marbles contribute to a sophisticated, craft-inspired aesthetic. Other standout features include Gaggenau appliances and Pedini millwork cabinetry in the kitchens, along with soaking tubs and custom, Adjaye-designed medicine cabinets in the master bathrooms.

At ground level, Adjaye has designed a public plaza park and ample retail space, ensuring that the address becomes a hub of new activity in the neighborhood. Developed in collaboration with local architects Hill West, the project is expected to be completed in 2020.
